CIS Railway Transport Council (SOVET)


CIS Railway Transport Council (Совет по железнодорожному транспорту) was created in 1992 for exploiting the joint park of railroad cars, approving international legislative acts and agreements regulating cargo and passenger transport, for laying down a harmonized rule set for railway and rolling stock exploitation, implementing joint procedures for settlement etc.

Estonia has agreed upon some intra-organizational distinctive actions concerning implementing SMGS and SMPS for cargo and passenger transport, creating better circumstances for providing such services.

Organisation includes 17 member states, Estonia participates in its activities based on an agreement. Decisions will be made during Council sessions taking place twice a year.
